When Running PowerBase, after a user logs in, they get an Access Violation.

Causes of Issue
---
There are a couple of causes of this issue.
First, some older versions of the Oracle client do not have the functionality needed to work with PowerBase. This is more common on versions of Oracle less than 9i.
Second, some of the Access Violations can be caused when PowerBase is trying to load up Crystal Reports, but cannot find the Crystal Report files, or these files are corrupted.

Solution to this Issue
---
If you are using a version of Oracle less than 9i, we suggest upgrading to a newer version. 9i is the minimum supported, but 10g is highly recommended.
If your Oracle version is current, or are using Sybase. Check your Crystal Reports files.
1) Open up Utility > Administrative Duties > Modify Items in PBASE_SETUP.
2) Note the value of USECRYSTALREPORTS
3) Open up Reports > Crystal Report Generator
4) If USECRYSTALREPORTS is 1 or 2, respecify the path names for the Relay and Comparison reports.
5) If USECRYSTALREPORTS is 3 or 4, reupload the report files for Relay and Comparison reports. |
