While RTS-FasTest is NOT fully tested and certified to work with Vista, the main issues we have found with getting RTS to function in the Vista environment are 1) the key drivers and 2) a file which Vista will not load automatically upon installation of the software.
The first step in getting Vista to function is downloading and running the latest hardware key drivers file from the website - this is the Keylock Driver Install.zip file in the Misc Updates section.
The second step is, on a computer using XP or lower operating system, in the c:\ directory, locate the PDOXUSRS.net file. Copy this file to c:/ENOSERV/RTS folder on the Vista machine. For the next step you will need to have full administrative rights or help from someone in your IT department. You will need to go to the BDE Administrator, Configuration tab, Configuration\Drivers\Native\Paradox. In the Definitions tab, the NET DIR option needs to be changed to c:\ENOSERV\RTS, the location where you've placed the PDOXUSRS.net file.
While we cannot guarantee this will resolve all issues involving RTS and Vista, we have had several individuals using off-the-shelf-Best-Buy Vista machines who have had no further reported problems. |
