Causes of Issue | |||||
Installing the 11.2.0.3 Oracle Provider for OLE DB from the Client Install Media Does Not Properly Register the Provider [ID 1380742.1] Bug:13417266 WHILE UPGRADING TO 11.2.0.3, INSTALLER FAILS TO REGISTER ORAOLEDB DLL | |||||
Solution to this Issue | |||||
1) Install the provider from the ODAC of the same version. (You only need the OLEDB provider, all other ODAC installation options are optional) -or- 2) Run the command regsvr32 on the file oraoledb11.dll manually. (You will need to run the command prompt as an Administrator on Windows 7 or this will not register properly) |
